I’ve been involved in the translation business for more than 20 years, working as a translator, reviser, technical specialist, project manager and teacher, among other roles.

After obtaining my degrees in translation and in social and economic sciences, I worked for an international translation firm for several years. I currently manage my own company based in Belgium, specialising in localisation, translation project management, consulting and training. My organisation collaborates with a dozen project managers, numerous freelancers and partner companies around the world on multilingual projects.

In addition to my company management duties, I teach translation project management at Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Université Lille 3 (France) and KU Leuven (Belgium), as well as e-content localisation at ULB. In recent years, I’ve run courses at numerous universities across Europe, including University of Salford (UK), Universitat Jaume I (Spain), Universitatea Alexandru Ioan Cuza (Romania) and Univerze v Ljubljani (Slovenia). I also run some courses on ProZ.com

Besides publishing some articles on project management and the importance of teaching this subject to future translators, I’ve written about terminology management in real life projects, quality assurance in translation and other translation-related subjects. I’ve also been involved in several European projects designing and evaluating training materials for future translators and project managers (TransCert but also eCoLoRe and eCoLoTrain,  currently being updated by Translation Commons' volunteers).

The first edition of my book on translation project management (“Comment gérer vos projets de traduction”) was published in French by edi.pro. The English edition, “How to manage your translation projects”, is available from this website.
